Volvo 850 Reversing lights

The reversing lights on my Volvo 850 have stopped working. The bulbs and fuses are OK, so it may be the switch. Can anyone tell me where the switch is, and is it easy to replace?

I already have the owners manual and the service manual, but there is no mention of the location of the reversing (U.S.=backup) switch, hence my question. It may be somewhere near the gearbox, or it may be near the gear selector stick. It is, by the way, an auto box.

Have you thought of calling or visiting your local Volvo dealer?

"It's allowed..."

Indeed it is. But there are probably better places.

Dont you just hate it... they dont tell you that you need the finger strenght of King Kong, the ability to swing upsideown from the door sill and a spaner that can only turn about 10 degrees 'cos it is too long.
Easy really.

Oh == I forgot, a bats ability to echo-sound the switch in the dark.

sounds like you need an "Orangubat mechanic" with short spanner.

Sounds almost as difficult as removing the rear light cluster on my Fiat Stilo to replace a bulb!
