I often wonder where people get the strength to do this kind of race. Are they Foolhardy or Superhuman? What a challenge!

and I usually follow the race with interest. It's the ultimate test of both people and yachts, and this time I'll be tracking Dee Caffari, the first woman to sail single-handedly around the world the 'wrong' way - against the prevailing winds and currents.

Dee Caffari, on board Aviva, has now entered the Doldrums for the seventh time in her career.

She must be getting used to it. Plenty of miles to go.

As an aside, I think the Doldrums have spread and encompassed the world, looking at the current state of it! ;o)
