In case anyone doesn't know, as soon as the play reaches Amen Corner you can watch it on Digital Channel 302.

They just cover the three holes and it goes right on beyond the time the official BBC coverage starts.

Marko797's mention of Digital Channel 302 is, of course, referring to Freeview.

You'll find many instances of extended coverage of major sporting, musical and other events on Channels 301 and 302 at most times of the day.

I suppose it is freeview but we are post switch-over (Or off) here and anybody who can get the signal will get page 302. It is possibly on a channel on Sky but we don't get that.

Hi.I don't get it on Virgin freeview. But get it on the proper freeview box in the bedroom.Any idea when it starts showing during the day.

>>Any idea when it starts showing during the day.>>

I've already pointed out that BBCi Active's 301 and 302 vary quite widely - the best way to check it out is to press the Red button for the menu for that particular period.

By the way, 300 is the page on which you are directed for the four (in the case of Freeview) or six screen summaries of the news, weather etc; 305 is an audio news channel.

Yesterday it started around 16:00.

They only show holes 11, 12 & 13 so they don't start broadcasting until the first group reaches that point. Today it is starting at 17:45, tomorrow 16:00.

Stuartli Once it starts it stays with it until well after the BBC1/2 programmes start, although they did lose the signal for half an hour or so yesterday.

Ok many thanks for the update.

  ened 18:32 11 Apr 2009

and it's on 301 tonight.

Apologies

I've been switching between the Freeview standard and active BBC transmissions for several years - not all that many people seem to realise yet that the latter transmissions even exist...:-)

It's a pity as you often get, especially at weekends, several different sports at the same time.

By the way it was quite a finish - felt rather sorry for Kenny Perry, particularly when his last hole chip and run finished just a few inches short.

Very sporting reaction to Angel Cabrera's holed putt, but the sudden death playoff seemed to prove too much.

Must have been shell shocked at losing a two stroke lead over the final two holes.
