What do you make of this?

Sir Joseph revealed that he was being paid £44,000 for six months as chairman of the new body

"If it was a safe pair of hands they were looking for I am probably the wrong person," he told the committee.

He said he had not applied for the post, but had been telephoned at home and offered it without an interview.

What do you make of this?

An utter and complete farce. Anyone who voluntarily puts themselves on this needs a psychiatric exam.

Perhaps that's what it's actually for - to identify nutters :-))

He's obviously no fool as he took a job which on the face of it looks like easy money.

Yes, well it is the pantomime season.

It's only for six month so that when they find the disk /usb pen on a train/bus it wont be a big payoff! *grin*

Advertised on the radio to-day. No passport means it is over £70.

It allows young people to prove their age in drinking venues. Apparently passports are always being swept up from the floor after busy nights and sent to the passport office. The little card will be more convenient!

"Sir Joseph Pilling said 538 people were on the database when he checked last week; all except one were UK nationals."

Bet I could produce a `huge` and effective database of this size for £44,000 a year let alone six months.
