I just realized hes also considering closing down Maternity and neonatal ive heard from a friend seems no mention here as they are still discussing it and also theres Northwick Park Hospital they are planning to hit
Calling the Health Secretary 'a creep' isn't particularly clever. The moves to close the Whittington's A&E department wasn't initiated by him, it's an NHS matter, and was proposed as part of a wider, 4 year plan that involves other London hospitals.
Those of us that were around when the NHS was first introduced will remember all the little cottage hospitals that were around at the time, in fact when I started working in the NHS in 1991 there where two smaller hospitals that was merged into the main acute hospital. Now we seemed to be going full circle and getting back what amounts to the cottage hospitals in the form of Polyclinics which basically are going to do the same as what those old cottage hospitals used to do. As they say, what goes around comes around.
