Tribute to Bingalau

The triumph for Paul Potts in the Britain's Got Talent final, which was watched by millions of television viewers, leads me to think it would be remiss if we didn't pay due tribute to another forum member.

Bigalau's thread entitled Claim to Fame:

may have been innocuous enough, but without it we would never have discovered that pavvi was hovering on the edge of deserved fame.

pavvi was as modest in his postings about his progress in the contest's auditions as he was throughout the actual show and I'm convinced that the cut throat world of show business is unlikely to change him too much.

Certainly he's set to eclipse anything that other forum members posted in the thread about their own achievements...:-)

Blimey! Looking at the title, I thought Bingalau had 'departed'.

Glad you are still with us Bingalau, another case of an exagerated report of your passing away(!)

  Stuartli 10:47 18 Jun 2007

It should perhaps have been "Bigalau's own Claim to Fame"....:-(

The insurance money will come in handy....

uses come of the money to get his teeth fixed.

  Stuartli 12:27 18 Jun 2007

pavvi stated in his second appearance that a dental specialist had offered to do the work for him, presumably free of charge.

I hope its not the same dental specialist that does Simon Cowell's teeth. I nearly had to wear sunglasses :O)

"free of charge", advertising sticker or billboard would ruin the jacket ;o)

Stuartli. I got a little worried there for a minute too. Thought I was gone and no one had told me. After reading the obituary column in the Guardian and finding no trace, I decided to have another cup of coffee and hope it never happens. I started that thread off after reading about our F.E.'s Claim to Fame. It seems to me everybody has at some time or other met someone famous. Reading back through the thread it looks as if I was right too. Pavvi was a bonus and I just hope that maybe he will still contribute to the forum, and keep us in the picture about his life. But if he doesn't then we can't blame him. I think he's going to be a bit short on time. I've now got a mental picture of him looking into the mirror on his ceiling and admiring his new set of gnashers. Sorry Paul!

Reports of your demise are patently untrue...:-)

By the way, Katherine Jenkins has just revealed on Sky News to Kay Burley that she intends to invite Paul to sing with her.

I'd give up the £100,000 like a shot if that offer came my way...:-)

As a journalist I met many, many famous people - in fact I was on first name terms with the Beatles, Brian Epstein, Helen Shapiro (took her out when she was just 16) and dozens more.

Underneath all the glamour most are just like you and me with the same aspirations, hopes and expectations for their lives.
