I can never understand how a carer or relative of a person lets things escalate to a level as described.All to often you read of these types of events, and at the same time, the complainer (after the event) is stating that they were unable to do anything about it.

The only option, if a relative refuses to co-operate, seems to be using the Mental Health Act to section them. Who would want to take that route to protect a parent?

What do you suggest that a relative should do if their mother or father doesn't want them to interfere?
