Can anyone please explain to me why Mark Thatcher was knighted?

  sunny staines 13:35 06 Jul 2008

ask his mum, will he be shipped out to guinea?

  DieSse 13:53 06 Jul 2008

Because it was inherited from his father who was awarded a hereditary Baronetcy, the last such ever awarded.

Perhaps it is for services to sat-nav manufacturers.

Leave the poor boy alone, whats he done to deserve this, on a cold wet summers afternoon?.

You don't hear much of Carol nowadays, since her adventure on "I'm a celebrity, get me out of here". A very down to earth lady, if I may say.

She is a regular on The One Show - BBC1 weekdays
Always good for a laff

Sunday Times Colour Mag did a piece on Mark recently- Keep his head down in a gated community on the Costa where all the villans hole up.
There is a price on his head it seems and not only from Guinea

I just wondered what he had ever done to be awarded this honour, but then my suspicious mind reminds me that his mother once supposedly lead this country so that may be the reason, and as for his father, the less said the better.

"I just wondered what he had ever done to be awarded this honour"

I told you exactly why earlier - it's hereditary from his father.

And his father was a well known, senior, and respected businessman - do you have a problem with that?
