Cricket must be the most boring game in the world.
At any given moment there are only three people taking part. First there is the bowler who always seems to take a much longer run up than can possibly be necessary.
Then someone gives it a bit of a whack with a block of wood.
Last of all the inevitable character with a hat who stands on the boundary for the duration, nowhere near the action, and always runs three steps whenever the ball is hit. The ball never goes anywhere near him and he spends most of his time picking his hat up, replacing it, and walking three steps back to his position.
After all this has gone on for weeks on end the game is a draw. The whole game is an anti-climax from start to finish.
There must be something fundamentally wrong with the rules, surely.
I don't follow cricket but from what I have heard the England team resorted to some gamesmanship ploys (spoiling tactics?)
I would have thought that was a bit stupid because I am sure the Aussies are also quite capable of doing even worse when the opportunity presents itself, as it surely will. I for one, sincerely hope they do.
