No more work (I can make myself believe that for two weeks).
No bosses nagging (apart for the wife and daughter)

Anyone else going somewhere nice this summer and cant wait?

Got our usual two week break at the end of July/start of August.

Driving over to the inlaws to begin with on the North sea coast at Filey (got to get that 'joy' out of the way first), then down the coast at various campsites / hotels for the rest of that week.

Middle weekend of the three going to the Centre Parcs at Sherwood forest - other half never been and has always wanted to.

After that working our way down to Cornwall in various campsites etc.

Final weekend going to see my sister in Towcester and my mum in Peterborough for her 60th birthday.

Jealous! I'm grounded now due to DVT, and was planning a trip to New Zealand in October.

Off the agenda now I'm afraid....Might manage a week in Snowdonia staying with freinds, if they will let me drive that far.

Already done my hols. for this year.

Just came back from Ichmeler,Turkey a few weeks ago.

I decided to go mid-may because it's hell of a lot cheaper than going at peak times such as now onwards. Besides, i'm not really one for TOO much heat & sun either & the 28/30 degrees was just right compared to nearly 40 around June/July/August.

Thoroughly enjoyed it, great weather,people & food,etc.
Highly reccomended to those of you who have never been.

A bit more commercialised than i thought it would've been &,in my opinion, they pander to the English too much. But that's tourism for ya.

So,apart rom the odd weekend break to Barcelona or Prague that's me done for this year.
I'm now deciding on where to go next year(i say I'M deciding, what i meant to say was WE are deciding).

I've always fancied Mexico Marko.
I hope you can post on here on how it was when you get back?

Two weeks in a log cabin, middle of nowhere, no papers, no TV, no PC, no phones and I'm not telling the company where I'm going.

15 days and counting... :0)

  Marko797 10:16 13 Jun 2008

yep, will do.

I've never been to Mexico before, but we do tend to go to caribbean more nowadays - I think it's bcos 'her in doors' likes it more than anywhere else. I just have the pleasure of paying for it!

Glad u had a greta time in Turkey. Maybe u shud consider northern cyprus (the turkish part) next time? Great ppl, great weather, great place, etc.

Haven't you seen those movies? It always starts off in a log cabin.

Never been abroad but always look forward to a fortnight at the Costa Del Clyde.

  Clapton is God 10:31 13 Jun 2008

Eight days touring Sicily.

Now that our two daughters are going away with their friends, this is the first holiday in more than 20 years for just Mrs Clapton is God and me.

We'll have to learn how to converse with each other again! ;-))

I can't go to the sunnier climes any more because of Keratosis/Keratoses? (skin cancer). But I am keeping in mind a nice little cruise along the Rhine or the Norwegian Fiord's later in the year, after I have been to our bi-annual re-union/booze-up. All depends on the state of my wife's health and also my own too, I suppose.

But I'm not in the least bit jealous of people going to places like the Bahamas, Mexico, Cyprus and the Seychelles etc. Already been there and done that, even if the "T" shirt has worn out.

My spell checker has just put the apostrophe in to the word Fiords. Without starting the debate about that again it doesn't seem right to me. In fact I am thinking there should be a "j" in the word somewhere.
