Sir Menzies Campbell resigns

It's not surprising that at 66 he has either walked or more likely been pushed out. He must have been praying that Brown would go to the country.

With no general election in sight he could be 69 by the time the next election comes around. The poor show in recent opinion polls must have made impact on his future.

Who is it to be next?

Chris Huhne.

he was better than his predessor, but I think that ex hidehi actor will make the best leader.

Doesn't matter who they choose next, they'll still want somebody else in a year or so.

They haven't had a decent long term leader since Jo Grimond (Well, OK, maybe Paddy Asdown).
