I can imagine it won't be cheap to keep that place warm but surely she should use her own money? I'm not really a "Royalty" person so I expect a grilling, but at a time when millions are struggling to put food on the table she wants help to heat a "Palace".?

she taking the micky, needs to dig into her billions.

Buckingham Palace belongs to the country, the Queen only lives in a small part of it, so realistically the owner of the property (the country) should bear the brunt of the heating bill...

I think she's got a cheek IMO

The Queen doesn't have billions, the vast majority of her wealth belongs to the Crown rather than personal wealth...

It does make more sense when it is properly explained.

A big part of the problem is the thermal signature of the palace.

'at a time when millions are struggling to put food on the table'

Really? Where are these millions that are struggling to feed themselves then?

McDonalds had their best year in the UK for four years in 2009, adding an extra £485 million to their turnover. They're doing so well that they'll be taking on an extra 5000 staff this year - no doubt to help them feed the starving millions.
