The A9 is blocked at Dunblane.

It's been blocked since yesterday.

This is not at all unusual in adverse winter weather.

On the news this morning a stuck HGV driver.

"I've just come up from Carlisle. I left at half past two. I come up every Monday"

Sorry WTM but some of your colleagues seem to lack the common sense you showed in the winter tyres thread!

Blame the transport managers, they don't live in the real world. They're the ones that send vehicles out without looking further than the end of their noses. A driver that doesn't go where, when whatever at the drop of a hat and the tug of the forelock is unemployable.

He should have known better...

Roads open now after been closed all night with many drivers having to sleep in their cars on the A9.

Mentioning Carlisle, the original base of Eddie Stobbart, made me think of the recent television documentary about that company. Things have moved on from the old days, and all thanks to modern technology!.
