Price of Beer (Cider)

Why is it that you can go into one pub and pay 'x' for a pint and go into another and pay'y'.

Very simple:

Pub is not owned by the landlord (Leasee), but by a big faceless money making company with only proffits and shareholders interests in mind.
They have restrictions on what you can buy from where etc..

But, if you are not a 'local pub' type drinker there are plenty of cheap pints to be had if you look around. Otherwise, yes it is a big rip-off.

£2.40 for stowford press at pub 'a' then at pub 'b' 900m away it's £2.90!

'Pub is not owned by the landlord (Leasee), but by a big faceless money making company with only proffits and shareholders interests in mind'...the Wetherspoons chain kind of blows your theory out of the water.

prices range from £1.50 - £2-10 for a pint in Manchester. All depends on which brewery you prefer.

Are you being dragged, screaming, into "pub b" and being forced to pay the extra charge, completely against your will?

If you answer "yes" then I think you may have a case, but if the answer is "no", then, sorry, but I feel you are could be on your own with this one.

I'm into HomeBrew.
Cheap, easy to do & on tap 24/7.
Must admit 1st batch of cider due soon, during tasting it was great.
