Never thought I'd see it.

I hope and pray that this will result in a more stable future for Pakistan although with Afghanistan on its doorstep and so many terrorist groups working from within Pakistan the new goverment will need the support of the West to bring the terrorist groups into line.

At present it is the leader of the pro Musharraf political party that has conceded defeat.

The situation is comparable with that in the US where the Republican President has Democrat majorities in the Senate and Congress.

Where this will ultimately lead Pakistan is debatable. Musharraf has the total support of the army and any moves to impeach him could lead to another military takeover.

which ever one gets in lets hope they are moderate rather than extreme pro taliban fundamentalists as it could upset the whole area.
