"UK record companies are celebrating their best ever year for album sales, with a record 237 million sold in the 12 months to September."

After all of the dire warnings about the P2P threat to music companies, I was rather surprised to read this piece of news.

PS: This hasn't been posted to re-ignite all of the old Kazaa arguments - I think that has been done to death here!

As has been said before; supply the right product and people will buy it

Apart from the well made point of 'supply the right product and people will buy it' there is the possability that p2p allows people to 'try before they buy'.

All my favorite CD's i originally had as copies on tape. i'd borror the original, tape it, and listen to it. I'd either decide i did not like it, and tape over it, or decide i did like it, and buy it.
