I think the concept is rather good.

It's easy to say 'pathetic', but remember that in lots of other countries mascots are very popular - anyone who goes to Japan will realise that on the first day.

These two are as good as any I've seen.

I can imagine a group session in a marketing office somewhere- brain bashing on what to do when someone came in with two useless little toys from a Christmas Cracker and the tame wordsmith conjured up a story around them - Then the account exec- tongue in cheek presented it to the Olympic Folk-
who straight laced and intense as they are and unable to take on board a jape - went on and bought it.
You think this sort of think does not happen?

I like them. At least they draw attention away from the logo, and even make it a little more sympathetic.

Mascots are for the kids.

What do you want - a pole-vaulting beefeater? A cycling John Bull?
