Am I developing into a right cynical so and so ? A logo costing £400,000 !!!! How can it possibly cost that! Surely this amount of money could be better spent? I'm prompted to quote Victor Meldrew ie: 'I don't believe it' - who would sanction such a great expense on something which will not improve any athlete's performance or even give them the desire to do so.
Does anyone think that the above will encourage a belief that the Olympic Games will provide lucrative earnings for many, talented or not.
Would it not have been simpler and certainly cheaper to create a competition and invite schools to give their pupils the opportunity of developing a logo - some of the children are very good with graphics as I have personally witnessed. And, who knows, it may even have given them a start in the business.
Perhaps, in my old age, I am, indeed, becoming very cynical, very, very cynical - or am I?
