Companies that use automated telephone calls that leave householders hearing nothing can now be fined up to £2m.

But its not going to stop the 'marketing' calls from overseas bases, in which Ofcom and service providers state that they can do nothing about.

I wonder who will be the receiver of the first £2m fine. No one perhaps?.

And someone guilty of drunkenness "can" get six months.

It just doesn't happen very often, and neither will this £2m fine.
