i was devistated when i received my copy of oblivion and saw the recommended and minimum requirements. my comp is a pent4 1.8mhz with 640ram and xfx5700 graphics - it actually runs ok on low settings even though its below minimum requirements but iv decided to wait till i get my new computer before i play it.

found the story, very interesting i guess i will need a new box next year as the upcoming titles wont run on my machine :(

Looks like the same problem here as with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2000 when it was first released in late 1999. That was also too demanding for then current hardware and much criticised as a result. I fail to see any logic in releasing a game that will not run well on the vast majority of potential buyers PCs.
