http://tinyurl.com/lp69ka, sorry can't answer your real question except that I think the UK has the biggest armed force capability bar the USA. Again not all members agree with the way the resolution is interpreted.

Running a military coalition operation is a nightmare of complexity. It's bad enough with two or three nations involved; add in a handful more and it becomes unmanageable.

Perhaps, like me, they believe it is a matter for the Arab League and the African Union rather than NATO.

The first principle of war is :

"The selection and maintainance of the aim"

Pity some of our politicians, of all parties, and many Senior Military Officers do not remember that.

I think that NATO is a paper tiger and many members never want to get their feet wet. That is why a European Army would have difficulty in fighting anyone.

All very well but NATO isn't at war with Libya.

Oh no they couldn't have that, they couldn't blame the West then when it all goes wrong.

Pine Man Looks like a "little" war to me. The principle should apply to any military operation.

... so what do you want to call it?

  morddwyd 21:50 14 Apr 2011

Well, the UN call it enforcing a no-fly zone.

Who am I to argue?
