MPs are to get a £1000 per year pay rise. Ministers (who get an etra £75,000 pa) are expected to forgo the rise.
If MPs and minsisters were more than civil service voice-overs then I would have no problems with their salaries. But at this point, a 1% pay rise doesn't seem that bad.
While Doctors and dentists, NHS managers, the judiciary and the senior civil service have all been handed increases of 1.5% for the next financial year.It would be difficult to say MPs were not entitled to the same 1.5% salary increase, now that their expense claims have been greatly reduced
i look after my wife who has terminal dementsia,i got £200 from the government this year to look after her.For me that works out at 0.03p per hour to look after her 0400-2000 365 and no respite.do mp`s deserve a pay rise NO NO NO.
Is this an early hours post so that no-one will notice the pay rise...?
well out of order when they earn a massive£60 grand anyway they can afford to forgo a payrise this year like everyone else [except greedy bankers]what happened to the debt the country is in they are still wasting left right and centre
>>It would be difficult to say MPs were not entitled to the same 1.5% salary increase, now that their expense claims have been greatly reduced<<This sounds as if you agreed with them fiddling expenses to boost their salarys. Perhaps you're joking and the irony escaped me?
It's open to the daytime posters now. The cats out of the bag...
click hereThis was Jan 6th I do not know if any change has been made.
It might have made sense considering the present situation to refuse a pay rise?
I would have had some respect for them if they had a pay cut like many thousands in this country.G
