There will simply be a new law, and until it is enacted the industry has voluntarily agreed to stick to the rules. It should take around 3 to 4 months.

I remember when this law came in around 1984.

I was working in a video shop at the time, and all currently released films had to be re-classified by the BBFC.

This was done in batches, and whilst the films were being classified they were temporarily "banned", so we'd get a monthly list of films to remove from the shelves.

I used to enjoy telling customers Dumbo was banned.

The process lasted about 3 years, and any films left after that were officially banned. Last I heard the box of banned films was still in the basement of that shopped, most being totally unwatchable...
