Not so very long ago and because of the increasing boom in cruising, there were plans to build even larger cruise liners of up to 500,000 gross tonnes. Because of the global economic downturn I believe these plans have been shelved. However, when the world economy finally gets back on an even keel, I reckon the likes of the Disney Corporation will be placing that order. Only time will tell if I'm right. TC.
It would be a waste of time cruising in one of these ships, the ports of call are not as attractive as staying on board. So she would be better off just moving out of sight of land and saving fuel by anchoring. Hey, maybe that's the idea to save fuel and also save the planet from climate change.
