Ugly! Looks like a floating tower block. May make a good prison ship.

Yes, it's plug ugly!

The putting green sounds like it could be fun in a hurricane though... 153 puts to hole:)

It'll be based in Miami - not a region known for taste & subtlety...

sister ship "Allure of the Seas" from the same shipyard.

Not so very long ago and because of the increasing boom in cruising, there were plans to build even larger cruise liners of up to 500,000 gross tonnes. Because of the global economic downturn I believe these plans have been shelved. However, when the world economy finally gets back on an even keel, I reckon the likes of the Disney Corporation will be placing that order. Only time will tell if I'm right. TC.

I have no degree in marine engineering/architecture so I cannot comment on its seaworthiness but I would not be prepared to be aboard the vessel should it have to sail through a Force 10 gale!!

Been there, done that, had the horrific accident and didn't even get the tee-shirt when I were 'nobbut a lad' in the Merchant Navy!

It would be a waste of time cruising in one of these ships, the ports of call are not as attractive as staying on board. So she would be better off just moving out of sight of land and saving fuel by anchoring. Hey, maybe that's the idea to save fuel and also save the planet from climate change.

I might give it a try when it anchors off of Skeggy sometime:)

"should it have to sail through a Force 10 gale!!"

I would think the captain would lose his job, and probably his pension too, if the ship was ever allowed to come within within 100 miles or so of a Force 10!

Weather isn't always so predictable even with all the latest gadgets, especially mid-ocean.
