The Ask Jeeves website is to rebrand as just Ask, and the iconic valet is to retir after 10 years service.

In this day and age the idea of a butler is rather staid, but it does seem a pity that they may now be going down the line of becoming just another faceless search engine.

I must admit that on the occasions I have used Ask Jeeves in the past I found the results not particularly relevant to the question, so I think they need to concentrate on improving their search algorithms as well.

and they are about to ditch its one redeeeming feature. I predict an accelerated descent into obscurity.

I think few people will miss Jeeves. I, like so many others, use Google by default.

Indeed, Jeeves was the first search engine I was introduced to at school. I left it there.

Looks like "Ask Evil Jeeves" has already been taken away in preparation
