But the people running them sure can.
In the past I have mentioned a gas billing problem my daughter has which centred around being billed for some one else's gas whilst her meter was not in the loop according the National Grid who have a data base of all meters it seems - no matter who sends the bills.
The out come of that was satisfactory- the supplier hold its hands up ans repaid 8 years of estimates of overcharging
if interest you read it up here click here
The account went to a new supplier with correct information from the customer.
And the first bill in- still charging the wrong meter.
It seems the information from the outgoing supplier was entered and no notice was taken of the application from the customer.
Contact was made
A man was sent with a new meter
Who declared 'Oh I cant install it the paper work does not tie up'.
And off he went.
Meanwhile still the bill for the other apartment roll in.
And as those folk are Eastern European itinerants- no bill will get paid.

How do you get these people - the supplier to pay attention to what they are being told and not rely on the erroneous data in their retched system?
