Are you trying to use the forum to sell your product?

  dagbladet 09:19 20 Sep 2007

I can't get the link to open. What is it?

  beeuuem 09:26 20 Sep 2007

I assume the link is similar to that referred to in click here

"Are you trying to use the forum to sell your product?"

No. All of my products are free: click here

or free help for Irfan View: click here

I suppose there are some people who don't know that Irfan View is free, or that free support is available from various forums, but it just seems like a pointless exercise. They're not even selling it.

I don't see what you mean. This should really be in Consumerwatch, anyway.

  laurie53 11:28 20 Sep 2007

Sorry, but I won't "click here" unless I've got least some idea that it may be of interest.

For all I know you may be sending me to the Coronation Street website.

Most of the links on the "IrfanView 2007" page link shown, point to downloadsglobe.com or download-reactor.com both justifiably red flagged by SiteAdvisor and as far as I can tell have nothing to do with the real Irfanview. Indeed it's not the only site doing this click here has been mentioned in the IrfanView Forum click here and they are in contact with those guilty of creating what are in essence phishing sites. The sites themselves appear safe enough to view, but don't sign up whatever you do.

  Pesala 13:44 20 Sep 2007

It seems pointless, which is why I ask why they are doing this. Belatucadrus probably has the right answer, they are just phisching sites trying to collect email addresses or credit card details.

tells us that the registart is GODADDY COM, INC., but if we delve a little deeper the registrant is someone in Albania.

See the Forum at the Irfanview website which has been discussing this.
