Unless you have XP you ain't gonna be using it. Microsoft's Internet Explorer 7 will rely on internal security changes from Windows XP Service Pack 2, this means that Windows 2000 users won't be able to run IE7. The company says bringing IE7 to Windows 2000 is too complex because the Windows 2000 OS doesn't feature certain security features.
I'm willing to bet that Ms has invested heavily in IE7 to bring it in line (or at least up to date with, if not ahead) with the likes of mozilla, opera, etc. Tabbed browsing is one thing I miss whilst using IE6 and I'm sure it'll be a welcome edition to all Ie users as ell as the rest of the improvements. So I for one will definetely be using IE7 when it's fully released.
Still no go, its probably NTL playing silly devils again. I even tried http: //www .betanews.com/ and its still the same. I don't want to hijack your thread with this problem, I'll try it at work tomorrow.
Chris, I've tried all the links to betanews.com, even through Google, but nothing works. I've tried elinks browser, being a text browser, it opens virtually anything, also been into my Win98SE partition but it still doesn't work. So I still think its a problem with my ISP.
What is strange I can ping it:
