What a delightful scene. A busy thoroughfare in a large town complete with trams. Posted July 26, 1904 (can’t see where because the stamp has been torn off) to an address in, would you believe Roath Park - Longshot 37.

The message is delightful –

Dear Gertie
Please don’t forget to give to Sarah the money for teachers present.
Tell Freda I have not enough money to send Freda a postcard.
From your loving sister

I think it is in Leeds. I've never been there either. Call it an educated guess.

  rdave13 21:56 09 Nov 2007

Leeds, USA then...

  hzhzhzhz 21:59 09 Nov 2007

It says American Dentistry but the prices look to be teeth 2'6 Gas 5'. Shillings and pence?.

And the cycle shop sells tyres not tires.

We have a new nail parlour opening soon offering "American Nails" and we're in Kent!

And it is a british policeman at the road junction.

  Bingalau 22:10 09 Nov 2007

The trams look typically British and so do the styles of clothing. Didn't know they had helicopters in 1904 though.

The building on the right has the distinctive architecture associated with Pump Rooms e.g Harrogate.

  Brumas 22:19 09 Nov 2007

helicopters ????

  rdave13 22:22 09 Nov 2007

Yes, three in the sky and one jet fighter diving in...

  rdave13 22:23 09 Nov 2007

Or is that four jets???
