Identification longshot/Talking Point Number 23

Quite a grim looking crenellated building, almost prison-like in its forbidding appearance. No clues on the reverse of this postally unused British postcard.

The lettering above the entrance appears to be M.V.M.

I thought at first look it was Inverness Sheriff Court but its not so haven't a clue.

so I'm guessing it may have been part of the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine in Edinburgh, circa 1890 - 1917 TC.

Good call - I reckon you could be right, although the current college buildings are a lot more modern. It might be worth a Google Earth search to see if there's a building like it still in evidence.

Sounds like a good guess from TopCat. The only other thing that comes to mind is maybe some kind of museum. A well built building like that should still be around and I don't think it's all that grim.

Could be right this site goes into the history and the drawing looks similar click here

Better part of the same site. I think the modern building is not as impressive. click here

Trolley Bus or Tram wires in front of the building?
