The only difference is it looks like they have changed the name from the Esplanade to the Promenade.

You are probably right with Bangor as the postcards and pics are so alike.
A thought that crossed my mind when I saw the postcards, was that I remember Margate having a Children's Corner and Marine Gardens when I was a kid. Not that it was quite that long ago!
