Identification Longshot/Talking Point 368

  Brumas 23:01 15 Oct 2010

Good Evening All.
I shall leave this one to run as it TWO GENUINE UNIDENTIFIED POSTCARDS. These were together in a grubby, battered old envelope, absolutely no clues as they were un-posted, the backs being just the normal pattern.
This one should keep all you ex-fishheads occupied for a wee while ;o}} I wonder if the superb little model was made by an old submariner from that submarine. I would like to know what kind of ship the model represents and what type of submarine it is?

Thanks for that. Would you believe I didn't even think of trying to look for information on the sub myself, DUH!! I can tell I’m ready for my old ‘pineapple’.

H43 was built 3/2/1919 and scrapped in NOvember 1944. See click here for information

I'm glad it survived the war and was not lost at sea.

Think the ship might be an Acheron class destroyer, but not 100%.

Looks very similar chimney stacks or whatever they are slightly different sizes so not sure if it is the exact same but looks very close.

Lots of look Alike's but could not find one with the two different sized Funnels.
No doubt someone will manage to find it.

This looks like a case for Para Handy or one of you old Navy Mariners to solve.
My experience on Rowing boats when I was young sort of puts me out of my depths when trying to solve this one.
Mind you if it had been the Titanic I would probably have recognised it.
