That looks very much like my weekend place ;-)

(I just wanted to get a look in on this one before it's solved)

This is a long shot but parts of that building look like a building in Gosport Hampshire

  Brumas 23:09 08 Oct 2010

‘The building is in the Modern Renaissance style and, when built, was considered one of the finest in that style.  Illustrations of it were used in architecture books of the day’. I have just looked at Google street view and it hasn’t altered at all!

Surprised old FE isn’t having a crack at this one!

has had a look, and a think, but he can't come up with the answer. The building looks vaguely familiar, but I can't place it.

A final clue before I turn in, it is in London. G'Night All.

Thank you buteman, but I'm a bit of a fraud as all I did was google for Brumas's description in ' '

It is all part of the game.
We all had the same clue but we never found it.

"The building looks vaguely familiar, but I can't place it."

It might be that architecturally it's similar to the old girls high school in Doncaster click here only a quarter of a mile from the Thorne Rd grammar school. Maybe that jogged your mind?
