Rosebery Avenue, London

  Brumas 23:31 01 Oct 2010

Is this a guess or do you know for sure?

I’m turning in now folks, G’Night All - expect this one to be sorted by the Night Shift ;o}}

I'll look again in the morning... the mist may have cleared by then.

complete guess, I was hoping one of our London based members would have then come on and said, 'yes, so it is, here's what it looks like today'. I had the jumper over the head running around the kitchen celebration all planned.

It isn't Rosebery Avenue, London. The name Rosebery is on one of the buildings on the left. Hills Hotel is in the background just to the right of the archway. Now where was Hills Hotel?

  Taff™ 10:58 02 Oct 2010

The building on the left says "Rosebery Temperance Hall" I`m thinking "Wills Hotel" or "Mills"

  Brumas 12:54 02 Oct 2010

That looks like a railway arch in the centre of the picture quite like the one featured in many old images of London, the exact location escapes me.

  Taff™ 13:26 02 Oct 2010

High on the skyline on the right looks like a gable end of a church with a figure as if holding aloft a torch. Must be London.
