How often do you back up valuable data on your PC? Have your say in the poll in the lefthand column.

every 1-2 weeks

Usually at the beginning of the month... if I remember. This post has made me remember to.

  spuds 13:16 03 Nov 2010

Only occasionally, mainly because I don't have valuable data to worry about.

I do it on the first Sunday of each month but I know I should do it more often. It's a boring but really important job!

The suitable frequency of backups will depend on the turnover of data on your PC. The real question is 'do you backup at all ?'. Assuming a LAN exists much data can be safeguarded by carefully arranging storage across more than one PC and by applications that backup automatically on closing etc.. My answer was 'monthly' which is the big routine one but really it's 'instantly to occasionally and other intervals in between'.

about to convert to every Monday at lunchtime.

  Kevscar1 14:13 03 Nov 2010

When I was working all work related files were backed up daily.

I use Acronis 2011 Non Stop Backup, so it is continual. I also do a System Backup twice a month.

  Bapou 15:33 03 Nov 2010

Monthly for the OS with Acronis, usually day after Windows updates. New documents copied to external drive on a daily basis, the entire partition monthly with Acronis.

Hard drive images taken weekly

If I'm working on important docs then have them auto save to an external drive every 10 mins
