Poll: How much do you intend to spend on your next PC?

Didn't we already have this one recently?

  Quickbeam 11:02 04 Apr 2012

About half as much as my last one.

  Toneman 11:16 04 Apr 2012

Time do you mean? About the same as at present. Money? don't know what they'll be in ten years time...

  wiz-king 12:55 04 Apr 2012

Less than I spent on this one. Every time I by a computer I find I get more for less. (says he who has only had 3 PC's since Win 3.1)

  Bingalau 14:01 04 Apr 2012

Nothing, I will make do with this one until I expire I guess. I feel no urge to upgrade. This one will have to do.

I've clicked under £400 but not sure if a fair answer. My next PC will be 'bits of' rather than the whole lot.

Had a budget of 1k for this one. spent only 700 odd. So nect time will probably be equally amazed at what I can get for 700 odd. Short answer - don't know.

I want to get at least 4/5 years out of this one and I don't think I'm halfway there yet.

Maybe £900. My Dan with a 2.5 Gig HD cost £4000 in 1987 (plus Jazz cassettes at £60 per Gig), my 350 Gig Evesham about £1000 in 2008 so prices going down nicely.

How much will depend on when.

When, is the day when I cannot use XP Pro rapidly and easily, and have to accept the idea of W7 riding rough-shod over existing hard and software.

I really don't want to learn new tricks!

Like Bingalau, my Evesham machines (Laptop and Desktop) will probably see me out.

Unless of course, one of my children takes pity on their aged parent.
