How Many More Seasonal Messages?

At one time the Christmas message came from Buckingham Palace and the Easter message from the Vatican an Lambeth Palace.

Last Christmas ever man and his brother issued Christmas Messages, even such nonentities as Willie Rennie for Heaven's sake, and today we have Easter messages from, so far, the PM and Jeremy Corbyn.

I'm not a zealot bur surely the messages of these basically Christian festivals is not political?

Well you've probably pushed Willie Rennie off the nonentities list as I suspect many like me wondered who he was and googled him.

As far as seasonal messages go I don't really care who issues them or what their motives are but accept them for what they are.

I think the original meaning of these events is lost for many and I'm not sure who listens to messages from the great and good.

Of more concern will be the fact the shops are closed.

As Theresa May is Prime Minister and daughter of a Vicar the message doesn't seem out of character, having looked up Willie Rennie it seems his grandfather was a local Minister so I'm reasonably OK with that. Jeremy Corbyn however as a hard core socialist whose only obvious links to religion are his initials and a love of Hamas, it just looks like a hypocritical bit of "Me Too".

PS no I'm not a fan.

My point exactly!

As Theresa May is Prime Minister and daughter of a Vicar the message doesn't seem out of character, having looked up Willie Rennie it seems his grandfather was a local Minister so I'm reasonably OK with that.

As children of the manse I would expect their relevant parent to be giving the message, nit them.

Being somewhat sceptical, I read PM May's message linked with an apparent uniting of the Brexit factions as a desperate call on something that there is no apparent sign of!

It was definitely political in my mind, vicars daughter or not...

In Korby's case, well as a country were not yet ready for an atheist leader of opposition or PM, so he has to go through the motions expected of his position as is his wearing of ties too.

They are all pushed by their publiscist to get their face in front of the people as often as possible and for whatever reason. It just goes to show how insecure they actually feel.

They were talking about it on the radio this morning and Tony Blair's publicist advised him not to mix his faith with politics.
