A European Union ruling regarding sex equality laws will put an end to cheaper car insurance for women drivers. They have decided that the current practice of offering reduced premiums to female drivers is in breach of the legislation !
I have a feeling his could open up a new can of worms.
"Will they now look at the high premiums for young drivers, that's age discrimination."
In light of the most recent decision, if anyone raised it (and that's the important bit - the court can't just decide to look at it), then I can't see how age could be deemed as a legal method of risk assessment.
That's not to say that I agree with the ECJ ruling. Far from it. I think it's ridiculous.
