HMS Cricket, Combined Operations, Landing Craft

In 1939 a woodland area had been chosen by the Admiralty as a naval training base close to the River Hamble in Hampshire. Prior to the D-Day landings the Royal Marines were carrying out landing craft training and on D-Day itself set off with the main invasion fleet.

I believe we have some former RMs in the forum so I thought this website might be of special interest to them. Bingalau - front and centre at the double! :o) TC.

I am not an ex-bootie but I have bookmarked this fascinating site so I can dip in to it at my leisure later.

BTW Bingalau did his training for escort duty on Noah's Ark ;o}}

He must have forgotten his maritime training as he's definitely late on parade. Do you recommend jankers if and when he finally appears, sah? :o) TC.
