Hijack This logs

We have all seen various threads about HJT. But I don't know or understand where the problems originate from. Yes I know I am probably being thick.

Also, how do people know they have that kind of problem?

Please enlighten me.

can be absolutely infuriating. A browser hijack is when spyware takes over your internet settings, perhaps redirecting your internet searches and resetting your default home page. No matter what you do, you can't restore your homepage, and you will notice that your browser runs slower and slower. Hijackers may steer your browser via sites that you don't see, but which capture your personal information, so you can be spammed later on. Any software that resets your browser's settings to point to other sites is a hijacker.

How do you know you have a hijacked browser? You'll suddenly start seeing pages that you didn't request, and no matter how you try you can't stop your browser seemingly going wherever it pleases - often to porn sites. After a few days of this people have been known to lose the will to live.

and where do you get these things from?
correct me if I am wrong; but an infected e mail link,a pop-up that you click on, a seemingly "safe" web site or so you thought,a program that you download assuming it to be innocent , but perhaps known to be riddled with spyware

and not having effective and up to date running protection on your pc, or bothering about it.....or.....

not everyone realises that they have a hijack problem or the seriousness of the situation with their computer but many helpers on here can help determine
when it is necessary to post a hijack this log
