At only 4 10 tall, I have been bullied/or people have tried, all my working life. But I have learnt to stand up formyself and knowing my job inside out,I could hold my own with anyone. It was hard to be taken seriously when younger, but age made a difference and I still have to stand up to people who tend to by pass me and push in front of me in queues etc.

I'm not sure, I've been intimidated, I suppose it could be classed as bullying but I suppose it effects people in different ways. Anyway, I just treated it with contempt and moved on whereas someone else might dwell on it, that's what makes us humans so complicated.

Yes, particularly when I was younger. Being Forces you could normally put up with it knowing that sooner or later either you or your tormentor would be drafted somewhere else, but on one or two of the more virulent occasions my health suffered, even when I had achieved some seniority.

My son, who followed me, received a very bad time time at the hands of some of those who had fallen foul of me towards the end of my time.

One of the few compensations to being built like a brick Karzi is not suffering a lot of bullying.

I was working for a firm for over a year and all was fine, I enjoyed the job. A new manager moved in and I quit after 3 1/2 months of his bully tactics, it got to the point where it was like he was standing on my shoulders all the time. Constant belittling in front of colleagues and even jibes, of a personal nature, about a medical condition.

To cut the story short no one else received such treatment. All of them socialised together and I felt I was just being pushed out....

In the end I called him to office to tell him I was quitting and walked out. Such a burden had been lifted from me and I felt so happy to not have to speak to him again.

I was unemployed for about 4 or 5 months and found it difficult to get a new job. When I explained why I'd quit the old place the interview took a turn for the worst. In the end I started to omit that year from my CV when applying for work.

Thankfully I'm in a good job now, in a good company, and I can't see myself moving else where.

Having heard all the talk of bullying in the services, I would like to state that I never came across any form of it, in my 23 years service in Her Majesty's Jollies.

Not been really bullied, but had serious threats made. The only problem was the people making the threats never made a real attempt to carry them out.Perhaps they considered retreat the wiser move?.

I have to agree with lisa02 "I was unemployed for about 4 or 5 months and found it difficult to get a new job. When I explained why I'd quit the old place the interview took a turn for the worst. In the end I started to omit that year from my CV when applying for work.

I found another way around that missing few months and because of my knowlege of my work I too obtained another job,and eventually was re- employed by the same firm years latter as a consultantfor for the last year of my working life.

Wish I could say the same. However, hand on heart, I was on the receiving end within hours on my first day and was passing it on some three months later.
