Google Earth not from space?

This link shows a video clip about a dog that could be seen on Google Earth!

Google Earth responded (supposedly) by saying that the images were taken by plane not satellite.

Is there any truth in this? I always thought that the images were from satellite.

I heard it was Aircraft Photograpy some years ago

Aircraft are used, occasionally you can see a shadow of the aircraft.

Some sections of Google Earth do, indeed come from satellite photography.

The google earth globe is actually several layers of photographs, some are from space, but any images that show streets are obviously from aircraft as the types of satellites that can give that definition belong to the NSA, and there's no way google would have access to those images.

If you look at the bottom of the screen there are the relevant copyright details. The NASA images are from space, the Tele Atlas images are from planes
