First, the oil price today exceeded 100$ per barrel, with a likely hike for the consumer fairly imminent, and now the first of the energy suppliers will announce price rises to come. click here

might be more apt. If one thing is certain (apart from death and taxes) it's that fossil fuel costs will gradually increase, apart from minor and temporary fluctuations.

Any rise in costs are passed onto consumers sooner then any cost reductions, mortgages, petrol, etc. Fact is the increases are made before companies actually buy the raw product and whilst still using current stocks..
