An Ayrshire businessman says he has been fined by the police for blowing his nose while driving.

  birdface 13:21 28 Jan 2010

Yes they catch all the big criminals nowadays.
Nobody is safe.
They will probably say that he was reading something from a bit of paper.
4 witnesses against him I don't fancy his chances.
Who Nose this could end up in the Crown Court.

This is why some people have no respect for the police, who it appears are under pressure to issue fixed penalty tickets.

Much easier than catching crooks!.

Bloody stupid.

Police constable Stuart Gray handed out the fixed penalty notice even though Mr Mancini was stopped in stationary traffic with his handbrake on.

Pc Gray, nicknamed 'Pc Shiny Buttons' for his zealous approach to the job, courted controversy last year when he issued a £50 fixed penalty for littering to a man who accidentally dropped a £10 note in the street.

"Total nonsense like this is the very opposite of good policing. This officer is known as PC Shiny Buttons for his lack of a common sense approach to the job.

"It is supposed to be about serving and protecting the public - not embarking on some petty power trip like this appears to be."

No

What a waste of public money, even if the chap didn't pull away as quick as he should have. If it goes to court and he wins the day, those coppers should be sacked.
