.eu domain names

Anyone rushing to get a .eu domain name now that today 7th April it is open to qualifying persons? (ie including private EU citizens) I think that it is tempting but what would I do with it?

Don't see the importance in rushing to get an .eu domain. Bit like a 'must have' vehicle number plate. I'll settle for co.uk for the time being, at least people will think that I am located in the UK :o)

Looking at the link, it appears to be all the big money, 'must have' people making the running. In another twelve months, when all the hype as settled, there will still be enough crumbs left around for the mere mortals.

I wonder if any 'specials' will end up on eBay over the next few weeks!.
