Geldof's line 'the silicone chip inside her head'... it seemed a very futuristic idea at the time.

They said the credit card would see the end of cash but my barber still likes to be paid in "proper money"

So what happens if you cut your finger slicing the Sunday roast?

  peter99co 12:59 09 Sep 2008

You will not get Sunday Roast till your digit is repaired!

I think an implant is a better option. It has already been used and we subject our pets to having one. As long as it is not inserted in the same place as my dog's.

I think you mean a microchip...:-)

At least the vet will know who you are and where you live......

Hope not just got two new credit cards in the post today.

  peter99co 15:12 09 Sep 2008

New credit cards where always held at the bank for me and the bank sent a letter informing me.

They have changed the outer envelope now and send them by post.

The trouble is that if they don't arrive you are unaware. I preferred the old system.

'the silicone chip inside her head'.....

Could this mean, in the future, thieves start stealing heads to buy goods to obtain cash?

  oresome 19:24 09 Sep 2008

From the article:

"Barclaycard said in the future people could be alerted to special offers in nearby shops through their mobiles."

Could this be the end of the mobile phone?

I'll be ditching mine if that ever happens!
