A damming report of Blairs government?
First the MPs expenses and now this which IMO is far worse, assuming what we read is correct.

The expences scandal is nothing to do with Blairs Government it is all of them, our own MP who is a Tory tried claiming for a Duck House in his lake.

What do you expect from the Telegraph? There was a damming report on Cameron in the Mirror this week but that is to be expected from the mirror.

"The result was a “rushed”operation “lacking in coherence and resources”"

This is hardly a major revelation.

This appears to be a collection of rehashed old reports and opinions.

I might have missed something but I didn't learn anything new from the link.

I can't wait for the result of this.

that if you lifted the lid on pretty well every record of military combat situations that have taken place over the past century (and before that) you would find a catalogue of error and lack of planning.

Military commanders and politicians have never been easy bedfellows, and civilians never like paying for wars. It's so easy to sit back after events and lob rocks at the people who were involved, and to forget that decisions are always taken in the context of the times.

The problem in all wars is lack of organisation, normally on the part of the enemy.

They never do what they are supposed to do, what all the predictions said they would do, and what all the exercises planned they would do.

It isn't lack of planning. You look at any operation, whether it be Culloden or Market Garden.

Absolutely meticulously planned, down to the last detail, but every time it's those damned fools on the other side who don't keep to the script.

Blair was the best PM this country has had for 50 years.

  peter99co 21:14 22 Nov 2009

Now you've done it!

  nangadef 21:29 22 Nov 2009

imho the worst in 50 years.

Knee jerk reactions to events to gain popularity; lies leading us to war; a programme to lead himself the first president of Europe (luckily failing because Brown ousted him); betrayal of the roots of socialism, the 'working' class and low paid workers by stealth taxes; proportional representation (not).

He got away with it 'cos of his cheesy smile and poor old Brown has suffered from his doings.

I must stop - you've raised my blood pressure IO :-(
