It must have been the rum "wot" did it. I now have an excuse for drinking it. Long may you continue Sir.

Maybe I should have used the word "Justified"?

Any details or a link then? Just how old is he? Where does he live etc.?

My question now is would you like to live to be that old?
Personally and assuming I was in reasonable health, yes I would very much like to live to a ripe old age if only out of curiosity as to what the world would be like by then.

  Bingalau 12:53 20 Jun 2009

I would if I was 112.

A perfect example as to why you should ignore all those that spout on about healthy living.

He's oulived both of his daughters, though. That doesn't sound like something I'd want to go through.

My younger daughter met Henry Allingham when he visited her 6th Form about 18 months ago.

She told us that she'd never seen so many 6th formers listening, enthralled to one man's stories.

Mr Allingham's comment on reaching 113 was "it's wonderful to be a teenager again".

A marvellous gent.

To adapt a Star Trek quote... may he live longer and prosper more. ;) Goodluck to him.
