Can a person with a criminal record be a committe person of a ciu club

  Mr Mistoffelees 17:22 08 Jul 2014

Presumably yes, if the person concerned can garner enough support to get voted in.

Not everyone with a criminal record is a bad person.

Had any points on your license? then you have a criminal record.

I suppose it would all come down to the offence committed, and perhaps the local licensing laws, and whether the members wanted the person on the committee?.

I wouldn't fancy having a fraudster as the club treasurer though!.

Why not? They can be members of the House of Lords!

  Woolwell 20:24 08 Jul 2014

Why don't you ask the CIU?

  bumpkin 22:10 08 Jul 2014

morddwyd, Why not? They can be members of the House of Lords!

Is that optional? or is it a requirement.

  lotvic 09:10 09 Jul 2014

Doesn't it depend on the particular Constitution of the CIU club concerned?

"Had any points on your license? then you have a criminal record"

You do not have a criminal record with penalty points for driving offences they only count if they are for say dangerous/drink driving
