James May got there a couple of year ago in his Big Ideas series. 'Power to the People' last broadcast Feb 2009 according to the BBC, but I'm sure I saw it on the Discovery channel not that long ago.

Operational solar stills out in the desert in
Albuquerque, New Mexico. The machines were up and running making several gallons a day I seem to remember. Cracking water and reacting the hydrogen with carbon dioxide extracted from the air.

I do hope this story is untrue.

If it turns out that we can produce car fuel from air, then guess what the Government will tax next.

Then will we be able to afford to breathe?
